You shouldn't feel pressured to take charge of your investment property and rely on others. Make sure the property manager you choose is invested in the project and understands your vision. Regular meetings will allow you to discuss options, check in on the property, hear from consumers, and make wise decisions.
Most significantly, you don't have to stick with property managers who aren't doing a good job or who are eating up too much of your budget. Establish and maintain appropriate limits, maintain frequent communication with the property manager, and act decisively when unsettling situations arise.
