Squarepegs Handyman Year In review

2023 is here! Happy New Year. We hope your year is off to a great start and that you all have had a fabulous Holiday Season. 

Here at Squarepegs Handyman, we took some much-needed time away from our business and indulged in time spent celebrating with our family and friends.

This time away provided us with the opportunity to regroup, refresh ourselves and gain some perspective on our business and the year that was.

2022: The Year That Was

Looking back and reflecting on 2022, we are so very proud and even more grateful. 

Our three-year-old business faced some of its biggest challenges this past year. There was rain, COVID, more (and more, and more) rain, another bout of COVID, personal struggles and challenges, staffing issues, worker shortages, drowned work vehicles and so much more. Professionally, 2022 seemed like the year that just wouldn’t quit - and we don’t mean that in a good way.

Thanks to the graciousness (and patience) of our clients, we were able to make it through and we couldn’t be more thankful for the understanding that our clients and community showed us throughout 2022. For us, the year just gone, proved the Chisholm and Maitland community truly supports and believes in local, Australian small business.

Without the grace and support of our community Squarepegs Handyman would not have made it through 2022 and out the other side in order to welcome the New Year and to set huge goals for the year ahead.

2023: Looking Ahead

Here at Squarepegs Handyman, we will continue glancing in our rearview mirror to reflect on the lessons of last year, but we will keep our focus on the road ahead. We have big plans for our business and for our community in 2023.

For starters, we will be moving into 2023 with our brand new website which will make it easier for us to share information with our clients and community. Our new website also makes it so much more simple for you to get in touch with us.

We are very excited about the new digital home of Squarepegs Handyman.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce some respite when it comes to the staffing issues and worker shortages that plagued us last year. We will be welcoming two new handy people to the Squarepegs team this year. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.

In late 2022, we made the decision to roll our Catio business, PURRfect Palaces, into Squarepegs Handyman. This means, starting now, Squarepegs Handyman, and all of our franchisees, will be offering custom-built Catios! We are SO looking forward to meeting the fabulous felines in our community.

Another big change comes with the way we will be doing our in-person quoting. We understand that the weekends are dear to our clients and that is why, in 2023, we will be organising our quoting a little bit differently to better service our community. We will no longer be limiting our quoting time to Saturdays. Instead, we will be quoting afternoons and evenings through the week. It is our pleasure to serve you better.

Lessons Learned and Moving Forward

2022 wasn’t all bad! There was a fabulous new Taylor Swift album released and one of the lyrics that has become so deeply embedded into our brains that it has morphed into our official Squarepegs handyman mantra is “everything you lose is a step you take” from You’re on Your Own Kid. While we don’t want to wallow in the loses we experienced last year, we love the sentiment of moving forward through it all.

For us here at Squarepegs Handyman, that is what 2023 is all about - moving forward. 

We want to take the time to give a very special “thank you” to our fabulous clients and our vibrant community. Without you, we would not have the opportunity to continue doing what we do. It means so much to us to be able to work with such lovely people. We are looking forward to working with you all again in the year ahead.

To those of you we haven’t met yet, we hope our paths cross in 2023 and we have the pleasure of meeting and working with you!
